Where Are You?

I wish I could see you again,
I wish I could see you smile,
I wish you could see me cry,
As I walked in constant denial.

For as long as I can remember,
I always cried out your name,
As I tried to sleep the night through,
And I wished I’d die as day came.

My heart was in your hands,
You placed it carefully on the floor,
You steadied your feet,
Crushed it to pieces of a million and more.

I wish you could see,
The tears I’d cry,
How every night,
I wished I’d die.

I wish to sleep and never wake,
Be happy and serene in my dreams,
The place where we were one,
Where my heart wouldn’t bleed streams.
