Dark Take Hold

To the shadows before my eyes,
Stay still, and stay here for long,
I really like what you show me,
Let no light break this illusion.

The world you twist and display,
A distortion, furthest from truth,
Holds an element, thought lost,
The shadows hold one blissful lie.

This world which I have grown into,
Does not exist within shadowy mist,
Convinced of born where not to be,
I find a mystic glimmer in a dark core.

An unreal warmth in the icy heart,
A warmth which pulsed numb toes,
An unbroken silence within the noise,
Serene solace beyond the crying agony.

A fire that once roared red and strong,
Now extinguished and its smoke in heaven,
Replaced by smokeless and lightless flames,
Burning black as the shadows before my eyes.
